Rosemary Stanley-McKenzie, also known as Nana Rose, has had a longstanding love of rum and especially rum punch. She’s always preferred the good stuff that reminded her of her youth in Jamaica, which is why we only use the best in our own expertly blended rum punch. Founding Nana Rose Rum Punch has given Nana Rose the opportunity to rediscover her own passion and bring it to people throughout the UK.
A message from Nana Rose
“My love affair with rum started many years ago while my Dad was spending 6 months of every year in Jamaica. At the earliest opportunity, my sister and I went to visit – really looking for a cheap holiday! When we arrived at Dad’s place he was off out to the local rum shack and suggested that we come too. We were two prim and proper young ladies and I was definitely curious to sample the culture of Jamaica. When we arrived at the rum shack my sister and I were held up on pedestals and introduced to the local drinkers in the shack – as we were Mackie’s daughters from England. When asked what we were drinking we soon discovered it was either rum with ice or rum without ice and they were out of ice.
I decided on the rum without ice. I will never forget the smell and flavour as it warmed my soul. So now, every time I take a sip of my rum punch it reminds me of long memorable days spent in the sunshine. The development of this rum punch has gone through several stages of tried and tested combinations. This rum punch is now part of my Jamaican heritage, which I leave for my grandchildren who lovingly call me Nana Rose.”
